Intro

Honey and the  Lavenders 

Well, I really don't know where to begin!!  I could start at the beginning, but the past is just that, the old and the past...shall we start with the new?

Let me introduce myself:  

Folks call me Chrissy,...I'm 31 years old, Plus-sized, African American, Washingtonian (by way of P.G. County, Maryland) and most importantly I live for Yahusha (Christ).  

I am a newlywed to my dh Tay (upcoming: May 26th will be our 1 year anniversary~), a mother of three sweet 'n' wild little boys- ages 5 1/2, 4 and 2, and a lively step-daughter, age 7 1/2.

I am also a student at the local community college, studying Liberal Studies. I also advocate for Autism, our oldest son, Tyler, has ASD. 

I love to do all things warm & cozy, and even better if its frugal (free).  :-)

I will be sharing things on this blog that the kids and I like to do, such as cooking, exploring museums and some of our little projects that we are working on both separately, and collectively.  There may be a poem or two, a video, and plenty of photos.

Making Progress

It has been such a trying month already but I still have joy!  All because the God of creation has decided to breathe air into my lungs one more time!  I know that purpose is in sight, I have to keep my eyes on it and through it, so I can get to it! 

OK, this morning, I got a call from a parent of one of Tyler's classmates.  Tyler attends a specialized school for Autism and other special needs.  His former classmate for the past 3 years has been newly attending since the beginning of this school year and is now in touch with us once again. 

So the mom called me this morning after attending a training and mentioned that she was astounded by the number of parents who actually lacked the basic resources that they need for their children with special needs.  

Can you say light bulb!!!  So we have decided to begin working on a small project that will be available in hard copy and on the Internet beginning with some tips and resources to aid parents who are in the process.  The goal is to make the transition slightly easier for those who are treading on a path parallel to yours.
