Beer Simmered Bratwurst & Sweet Potato Steak Fries

Here is another one of my recipes that is really easy and filling. I enjoy making this semi-fancy version of hot-dog night for my household.

This is a versatile dish, which is also great for the grill! I love the smell of the onions and the sweet potatoes, singing in aromatic harmony, beckoning a hungry mouth to taste the crunchy savory sweetness of the steak fries...the first flavorful bite of the brat. Goodness.

Time for Prep & Cooking: 40 min.

You may want to add other toppings to your links. One of my favorites is a sprig of fresh cilantro to give it a unique after-flavor.

Kids love condiments, so I always have a couple on the table, ketchup, mustard, relish, and barbecue sauce. They also like green Tabasco hot sauce.

And then there's shredded cheese, the variety is pretty much endless.

Below are some photos of the process. I am definitely an amateur but I love it!

Recipe: Creamy Lemon Chicken & Spaghetti Squash Sauté

Greetings to all!
This recipe is my own creation (so proud), and also the first time I have ever used or tasted Spaghetti Squash! I paired it with sauteed cabbage with garlic & leeks...And I must say, it was super delicious, light and healthy! I thought I'd post it, because it was just that good. I hope you will try it at home one day soon! Smooches~

Where Do I Stand?

Long time no post! A lot has taken place in life, for all of us. We have grown, physically, but there has been some spiritual stunts in our growth, some wild weeds have tried to suffocate our faith. But there is more to life than tests and trials. There is more to family than cohabitation. So much more to life!

Beyond & behind the things we deal with on a daily basis, there are many battles being fought. There are things, events, situations, challenges that put us out of our realm of safety. (spiritually speaking) So many principalities and powers that want to defeat us. These are being played out in the mind. They aren't blatant, or flagrant, and will slide right in on you secretly, and have you backed up against a wall, in the corner...and take what little you have. Leaving you empty.  Sucking the last droplets of hope you've clung to for so long.

That's the valley, to me.

How greatly beneficial it is, when you set your mind to believe in God's bigger picture, and stop looking at what you see in front of you!

After 2012, the next year or so would take me from my firm planting and uproot my whole world. I had not seen it coming, but what a whirlwind.

My life took a turn for the worst. My marriage, separated. My children, torn from their father by uncontrolled circumstances. My faith, battered and worn down to almost nothing. Home, lost. Pride, gone. Worst of all, I questioned everything I believed so strongly in, just a few months before.

Was I the seed that fell in the rocky soil? My sprouts sprang up quickly having no roots and withered away with the sun? Where was my hope truly originating from?   "But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended." Matthew 13:20-21

Who (or what) was really my god?

It's easy to make an idol out of any little thing you think that you can't live without. People. Money, material things, lifestyles... But the same way you got those things, you can lose them. The test begins right there.

But my ALAHYM is so faithful! The author and finisher of my faith continued to keep me despite my groanings, my disobedience, and he even gave me more, way more than I lost two years ago. Now added is peace and the will to do the work of my Abba Father.

Don't let anyone deter you because of your past. The best thing about Yahweh is that HE already knows your path before you take one step, so the way is already made. Your connection, worship in spirit and in truth to your heavenly father is what you need. Trust in Him alone for guidance and to sustain you in troubled times. Each season is one that you learn and become aware of how immature you have been in an area of life. We need these times to cultivate us into the vessels He created us to be.

Blessings & Shalum.
